Mary Harris Todd, Pastor
Mary has served as pastor of Morton Church since August, 1990. She awakened to faith in her family’s arms and in the arms of the Kirk O’Cliff Presbyterian Church in the countryside north of Mineral, Virginia. One of her earliest memories of church leadership dates from about the age of six or seven when she sang “How Great Thou Art” as a solo at a summer night revival service at the Kirk.
Mary graduated from the University of Richmond in 1982 with a B.A. in French. She earned her M.A. in Christian Education from the Presbyterian School of Christian Education in 1987 and her M. Div. from Union Theological Seminary in Virginia in 1988. Along the way she gained experience as a church youth worker, a church secretary, and a hospital chaplain intern.
Mary’s husband is John Todd, and they have a daughter, Laura, who is a 2016 graduate of Guilford College and now a student at Vanderbilt Divinity School in Nashville, Tennessee. Mary’s many interests include reading, music, and needlework.
